Chocolaty Pancakes With Sauteed Bananas Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb sugar
  • 1 c pancake mix
  •  topping
  • 3/4 c whole milk
  • 1/4 c sour cream
  • 2 tbsps unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 4 bananas, peeled & cut into ¼-inch-thick slices ¼ c maple syrup
  • 1/2 c Nutella (hazelnut-chocolate spread), at about room temp, or
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Place the pancake mix In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #2 In another bowl, whisk together the egg & Nutella or chocolate.
  • Step #3 Add the milk, sour cream, & oil.
  • Step #4 Stir into the pancake mix & whisk just to mix.
  • Step #5 Let the batter rest according to the label directions.
  • Step #6 Place a nonstick griddle or skillet coated with oil, butter, or cooking spray over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #7 Spoon 1/3 c of batter per pancake onto the griddle.
  • Step #8 Turn when bubbles rise to the surface & the edges look cooked.
  • Step #9 Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Step #10 Serve with topping.
  • Step #11 Saut[SPECIAL_CHAR "233"]ed Banana ToppingIn a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
  • Step #12 Add the sugar & cook, stirring, until the mixture begins to brown, about 2 mins.
  • Step #13 Add the bananas & carefully coat with the butter mixture.
  • Step #14 Cook until they begin to soften, about 2 mins.
  • Step #15 Add the maple syrup & bring just to a boil.
