Mixed Fruit Granola Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c sliced dried mixed fruit
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1/4 c wheat germ
  • 1/4 c sunflower seed kernels
  • 1/4 c sliced pecans
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsps sesame seeds
  • 1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 c uncooked regular oats
  • 2 tbsps corn syrup

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine first 5 ingredients in a bowl.
  • Step #2 Set oats mixture aside.
  • Step #3 Cook butter & brown sugar in a medium saucepan over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until butter is melted & sugar is dissolved.
  • Step #4 Stir in corn syrup.
  • Step #5 Remove from heat, & stir in the vanilla.
  • Step #6 Pour sugar mixture evenly over oats mixture, tossing to coat well.
  • Step #7 Spread mixture evenly in a lightly greased jelly-roll or broiler pan.
  • Step #8 Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 mins, stirring 3 times.
  • Step #9 Cool completely.
  • Step #10 Stir in dried fruit.
  • Step #11 Note: Store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.
