Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 tsps hot water
  • 1/4 c warm milk (110 to 115 degrees F)
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • GLAZE:
  • 3 tbsps cold butter or margarine, divided
  • 1/3 c miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/8 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 c confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsps brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp warm water (110 degrees F to 115 degrees F)
  • 1 1/2 tsps butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsps sugar, divided
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3/4 tsp active dry yeast

Directions
  • Step #1 In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  • Step #2 In a bowl, mix the flour, 1 tbsp sugar & salt.
  • Step #3 Cut in 2 tbsps of the butter until crumbly.
  • Step #4 Add the milk, egg yolk & yeast mixture; stir well.
  • Step #5 Cover with plastic wrap; put in the fridge for at least 4 hrs or overnight.
  • Step #6 Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Step #7 Roll out into a 10-in.
  • Step #8 x 6-in.
  • Step #9 rectangle.
  • Step #10 Melt remaining butter; brush butter to within 1/2 in.
  • Step #11 of edges.
  • Step #12 Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon & remaining sugar.
  • Step #13 Sprinkle top over dough, then sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Step #14 Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a short side; pinch seam to seal.
  • Step #15 CUt into 1-in.
  • Step #16 slices; place cut side down in a greased 8-in.
  • Step #17 square baking dish.
  • Step #18 Cover & let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hrs.
  • Step #19 Bake at 375 degrees F for 15-18 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #20 In a bowl, mix the confectioners' sugar, butter, vanilla & enough milk to achieve drizzling consistency; drizzle over warm rolls.
  • Step #21 Serve warm.
