Libbie's Delicate White Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 tsp almond extract .
3/4 c sliced walnuts .
1 1/2 c sugar .
2 1/2 tsps baking powder .
2 1/2 c cake flour .
1/2 tsp vanilla .
1 c milk .
5 large egg whites .
3/4 c butter

Directions

Step #1 Cream butter & sugar; add flavorings.
Step #2 Sift dry ingredients three times.
Step #3 Add dry ingredients & milk, alternately, to the butter mixture.
Step #4 Add nuts.
Step #5 Beat egg whites until stiff & then fold them into the batter.
Step #6 Place batter in a greased & floured 9 x 13 cake pan.
Step #7 Bake at 300F degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 mins or until brown.
