Extra Moist Chocolate Fudge Snack Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 c sugar .
  • 1 c buttermilk (or 1 tbsp vinegar with milk to make 1 c) .
  • 2 tsps vanilla .
  • 1/3 c applesauce .
  • 3 (1 oz) unsweetened chocolate squares .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts (optional) .
  • 1 3/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 c mini chocolate chips .
  • 1/4 c butter .
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1/2 c oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Grease an 8 x 8-inch baking dish.
  • Step #3 In the microwave, melt the chocolate & butter for about 1 min, then whisk or stir until smooth; set aside.
  • Step #4 In a bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda & salt; set aside.
  • Step #5 In a medium mixing bowl, oil, applesauce, mix the buttermilk, vanilla & egg, then add to the dry ingredients along with the chocolate mixture; mix until mixd.
  • Step #6 Add in mini chocolate chips & nuts (if using).
  • Step #7 Pour into prepared baking dish.
  • Step #8 Bake for about 40-45 mins, or until cake test done.
