Cinnamon Basmati Rice With Raisins Recipe

Ingredients

1 c uncooked basmati rice .
3/4 c golden raisins .
1 medium onion, sliced .
1 tsp cinnamon .
1/4 tsp pepper .
1 tbsp butter, unsalted .
1 tsp salt .
1/2 tsp ground cloves

Directions

Step #1 Melt butter in medium saucepan.
Step #2 Saute onion, cloves, & cinammon until the onion is translucent.
Step #3 Rinse the uncooked rice in a sieve with cold running water.
Step #4 Add rice to pan, sirring to coat.
Step #5 Add raisins, salt, & pepper.
Step #6 Add 2 c water.
Step #7 Increase the heat & bring to a boil.
Step #8 Reduce heat & cover.
Step #9 Cook 10-15 mins until water has been absorbed & rice is cooked.
Step #10 Remove from heat & let this stand, covered, for 5 more mins.
Step #11 Spice up with extra salt & pepper if desired.
