Cinnamon Basmati Rice With Raisins Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c uncooked basmati rice .
  • 3/4 c golden raisins .
  • 1 medium onion, sliced .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 1 tbsp butter, unsalted .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt butter in medium saucepan.
  • Step #2 Saute onion, cloves, & cinammon until the onion is translucent.
  • Step #3 Rinse the uncooked rice in a sieve with cold running water.
  • Step #4 Add rice to pan, sirring to coat.
  • Step #5 Add raisins, salt, & pepper.
  • Step #6 Add 2 c water.
  • Step #7 Increase the heat & bring to a boil.
  • Step #8 Reduce heat & cover.
  • Step #9 Cook 10-15 mins until water has been absorbed & rice is cooked.
  • Step #10 Remove from heat & let this stand, covered, for 5 more mins.
  • Step #11 Spice up with extra salt & pepper if desired.
