Bangin' Bourbon Balls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2-2 c pecan halves .
  • 1 lb powdered sugar (sifting not necessary) .
  • 6 tbsps bourbon or whiskey (more or less to taste, see note) .
  • 1/2 c butter, softened .
  • 1 dash salt .
  • 16 oz dipping chocolate

Directions
  • Step #1 Cream the butter & sugar to form a fondant.
  • Step #2 Add the dash of salt & whiskey to taste (NOTE: there is a difference between bourbon & whiskey.
  • Step #3 Makers Mark is a wonderful bourbon.
  • Step #4 Jim, Jack, etc.
  • Step #5 are great whiskey.
  • Step #6 I prefer Jim for this recipe.
  • Step #7 The difference is the distilling process.

  • Step #9 ) Mix well.
  • Step #10 Roll a tbsp of fondant around 1 pecan half.
  • Step #11 Place on waxed paper & put in the fridge 8 hrs or until firm.
  • Step #12 Melt chocolate & cool until easily handled.
  • Step #13 Dip the balls, letting the excess drip off.
  • Step #14 Place back on the waxed paper.
  • Step #15 Chill 1 hr or until chocolate is set.
  • Step #16 Store in an airtight container either in a very cool place or the refrigerator.
