Step #1 Add the sugar & water to a saucepan; bring to a boil & boil for 5 mins.
Step #2 Add in the cranberries; heat another 5 mins.
Step #3 Remove pan from the heat; stir in the the apples.
Step #4 Pour mixture into a greased 10x6 inch baking dish; set aside.
Step #5 In a mixing bowl, mix together the oats, using a pastry mixer, flour, brown sugar, & salt; cut in the butter, until coarse crumbs form.
Step #6 Sprinkle top over cranberry mixture; sprinkle nuts over the top.
Step #7 Bake at 350° for 35 mins.
