- 2 garlic cloves, crushed .
- 3 c water .
- 2 lbs lean beef, cut into strips .
- 2 tbsps brown sugar .
- 1 onion, sliced .
- 1/2 c soy sauce .
- 2 slices ginger .
- 2 tbsps oil
Directions
- Step #1 Heat oil in Dutch Oven.
- Step #2 Fry beef until brown.
- Step #3 Add onions, garlic & ginger.
- Step #4 Stir-Fry a few mins.
- Step #5 Add Soy Sauce, brown sugar, pepper & water.
- Step #6 Bring to a boil.
- Step #7 Reduce heat, cover & let simmer for 3 hrs.
- Step #8 Add more liquid, if needed.
- Step #9 Just before serving, thicken with a small amount of flour or corn starch.
- Step #10 Serve over rice or noodles.
- Step #11 OPTIONAL: 30 mins before serving, add 1/2 lb of vegetables.
- Step #12 Mushrooms, green pepper, carrots & peas all work well.
