Ingredients
1/8 tsp pepper .
2 garlic cloves, crushed .
3 c water .
2 lbs lean beef, cut into strips .
2 tbsps brown sugar .
1 onion, sliced .
1/2 c soy sauce .
2 slices ginger .
2 tbsps oil
Directions
Step #1 Heat oil in Dutch Oven.
Step #2 Fry beef until brown.
Step #3 Add onions, garlic & ginger.
Step #4 Stir-Fry a few mins.
Step #5 Add Soy Sauce, brown sugar, pepper & water.
Step #6 Bring to a boil.
Step #7 Reduce heat, cover & let simmer for 3 hrs.
Step #8 Add more liquid, if needed.
Step #9 Just before serving, thicken with a small amount of flour or corn starch.
Step #10 Serve over rice or noodles.
Step #11 OPTIONAL: 30 mins before serving, add 1/2 lb of vegetables.
Step #12 Mushrooms, green pepper, carrots & peas all work well.
