Roadhouse Grill Texas Egg Rolls Copy Cat Recipe

Ingredients
  • oil (for frying) .
  • water, small amount, mixed with .
  • Jalapeno Pepper Jelly .
  • 5 drops green food coloring .
  • 1 lb egg roll wraps or wonton skins .
  • 1 1/2 c distilled white vinegar .
  • 6 oz liquid pectin .
  • 6 1/2 c white sugar .
  • 8 oz sliced canned jalapeno peppers .
  • 1 (8 oz) cream cheese, softened .
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper .
  • 12 jalapenos, sliced .
  • 3 green bell peppers, minced .
  • Rolls .
  • 1 tbsp flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix jalapenos with cream cheese.
  • Step #2 Place small amount on wrapper, roll up eggroll style & seal the tip with a drop of the water-flour mixture.
  • Step #3 Continue until mixture is all gone.
  • Step #4 Place in refrigerator for 2 hrs.
  • Step #5 Heat oil to 350-375 & cook about 4 to 5 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #6 Cool 5 mins.
  • Step #7 Filling will be hot.
  • Step #8 Serve with jalapeno jelly.
  • Step #9 Jalapeno Jelly:.
  • Step #10 In a large, stainless steel saucepan, mix peppers, sugar, vinegar, & cayenne pepper.
  • Step #11 Cook over medium high heat.
  • Step #12 Stir frequently until mixture begins to boil.
  • Step #13 Stir in pectin; boil 5 mins longer, stirring constantly, & mix in food coloring.
  • Step #14 Skim off foam, & remove this from heat.
  • Step #15 Ladle into sterilized jars.
  • Step #16 Seal, & process in a boiling-water canner for 5 mins.
