Beef And Pasta Bake - The Best! Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 slices bacon, fat removed & finely sliced .
  • 440 g condensed tomato soup (14oz) .
  • 1 tsp oregano .
  • 500 g minced beef (1 lb) .
  • 1 carrot, finely sliced .
  • 150 g spiral shaped pasta (uncooked) .
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce (ketchup) .
  • 1/3 c tomato paste .
  • 1 tbsp olive oil .
  • 2 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1 onion, sliced .
  • 1 c grated cheddar cheese

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 180 (350F).
  • Step #2 Heat oil in large pan; cook onion, garlic, stirring, bacon & carrot, til carrot is just tender - about 8 mins *.
  • Step #3 Add mince & cook, til mince changes colour; then add undiluted soup, tomato paste, stirring, sauce & oregano & let simmer, covered, about 15 mins or til mixture has thickened slightly.
  • Step #4 While beef mixture is simmering, cook pasta & drain.
  • Step #5 Stir pasta into beef mixture, then spoon into an oiled deep 8 c capacity ovenproof dish & sprinkle with cheese.
  • Step #6 Bake, uncovered, for 15 mins or until browned slightly.
  • Step #7 *If you want to, you can add a stick of sliced celery along with the onion etc or add some mushrooms just before the mince.
