Oatmeal Chip Crispies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 1/4 c semi-sweet chocolate chips (regular or mini size, or 1-1/4 c butterscotch chip, I prefer the butterscotch) .
  • 1 c Butter Flavor Crisco .
  • 1 1/4 c flour .
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract .
  • 3 c rolled oats (not instant) .
  • 1/2 c toffee pieces (optional) .
  • 1 c light brown sugar, packed .
  • 1/4 c white sugar .
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder .
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda .
  • 1/4 tsp milk .
  • 2 large eggs

Directions
  • Step #1 Set oven to 350°.
  • Step #2 Grease a large cookie sheet or line with parchment paper.
  • Step #3 In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt.
  • Step #4 In a large bowl, cream shortening, white sugar & brown sugar for about 3 mins.
  • Step #5 Add in eggs, & beat well.
  • Step #6 Beat in milk & extract.
  • Step #7 Blend in dry ingredients; mix well to mix.
  • Step #8 Add in baking chips & toffee pieces (if using) mix to mix.
  • Step #9 Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet leaving 1-1/2 inches apart.
  • Step #10 Bake for 10-12 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #11 Transfer to racks to cool.
