Autumn Apple Cake With Butter Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c softened butter .
  • 4 c apples, sliced & peeled .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 tsp cinnamon .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1/2 c brown sugar .
  • 1/2 c white sugar .
  • 1 tsp nutmeg .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 2 c flour .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • Butter Sauce .
  • 1 c sliced nuts .
  • 2 c sugar .
  • Cake .
  • 1/2 c evaporated milk

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, mix the sugar, eggs & butter.
  • Step #2 Beat well.
  • Step #3 In another bowl, baking soda, salt, sift together the flour, cinnamon & nutmeg.
  • Step #4 Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  • Step #5 Add the sliced apples & nuts.
  • Step #6 Mix together well.
  • Step #7 Pour into a well greased 9x13 pan.
  • Step #8 Bake at 350°F for 45 mins.
  • Step #9 For the butter sauce; melt the 1/2 c butter in a saucepan on low heat.
  • Step #10 Add the sugars & evaporated milk.
  • Step #11 Heat slowly, do not let boil.
  • Step #12 Serve with apple cake.
  • Step #13 You may dollop each individual piece with whipped cream as well.
