Magnolia's Vanilla Cupcakes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 2 c sugar .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 1 c unsalted butter, softened .
  • 1 1/2 c self-rising flour .
  • 1 1/4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 4 large eggs, at about room temp

Directions
  • Step #1 Line 24 muffin tins with ccake papers.
  • Step #2 In a small bowl, add the flours; stir this to mix; set aside.
  • Step #3 In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
  • Step #4 Add the sugar slowly & beat for 3 mins or until fluffy.
  • Step #5 Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step #6 Add the dry ingredients in three parts, alternating with the milk & vanilla.
  • Step #7 With each addition, beat until the ingredients are incorporated but do not overmix.
  • Step #8 Spoon the batter into the ccake liners, filling about 3/4 full.
  • Step #9 Bake in a 350° oven for 20-25 mins.
  • Step #10 Cool the ccakes in the tin for 15 mins.
  • Step #11 Remove cakes from the tins & cool on a wire rack before icing.
  • Step #12 Ice with tinted Vanilla Buttercream.
