Hawaiian Style Spareribs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp ground ginger or 1 tbsp minced fresh gingerroot .
  • 1/2 c teriyaki sauce .
  • 1/4 c ketchup .
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/3 c unsweetened pineapple juice .
  • 4 lbs meaty pork spareribs .
  • 3 tbsps brown sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut ribs into serving pieces.
  • Step #2 Parboil the ribs in water to cover for at least 30 mins.
  • Step #3 (This helps to get rid of some of the fat & also helps to make the ribs tender.
  • Step #4 ) Drain & let cool somewhat.
  • Step #5 Mix the remaining ingredients together.
  • Step #6 Put ribs in a marinade pan or large zip-loc freezer bag & pour marinade over ribs.
  • Step #7 Refrigerate.
  • Step #8 Turn ribs every once in awhile & continue to marinate at least 2 hrs or overnight.
  • Step #9 Grill until heated through & nicely browned or bake in 350 degree oven until browned & tender.
  • Step #10 Brush with marinade while cooking if desired.
  • Step #11 Serve on platter with pineapple slices & mandarin orange segments.
