Down East Clam Dip Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz) can campbell's condensed new england clam chowder .
  • Tabasco sauce (about 6 shakes) .
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • salt .
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1 tsp anchovy paste .
  • 1 (4 oz) can sliced clams, drained, reserving 2 tbsps clam juice .
  • 3 green onions, sliced .
  • pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Add the cream cheese & clam chowder to a large bowl; using an electric mixer, cream together until mixture is smooth.
  • Step #2 Fold in the clams, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, green onions, garlic, & anchovy paste; stir this to mix well.
  • Step #3 If the dip is too stiff, add in some reserve clam juice until desired consistency is reached.
  • Step #4 Taste dip & adjust seasoning with salt & pepper or more Tabasco.
  • Step #5 Cover up tightly with plastic wrap & put in the fridge for at least 6 hrs (need to let the flavors mingle).
