Chocolate Chili Bites Recipe

Ingredients
  • 200 g butter (7 1/8 oz) .
  • 250 g sugar (8 7/8 oz) .
  • 200 g good quality unsweetened dark chocolate (7 1/8 oz) .
  • 5 eggs .
  • 1 1/2 tsps chili powder (adjust to your taste & to the strength of your chili powder) .
  • 1 tbsp flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Pre-heat your oven to 400°F.
  • Step #2 Melt the butter with the chocolate in a small saucepan or in a bowl in the microwave.
  • Step #3 If melting in the microwave, be sure to do it slowly, mixing with a spoon between each pass.
  • Step #4 Transfer the melted chocolate & butter into a mixing bowl & add the sugar, stirring it in with a wooden spoon.
  • Step #5 Let the mixture cool a little.
  • Step #6 Add the eggs one by one, mixing well with the spoon after each addition.
  • Step #7 Add a rounded tbsp of flour & mix well.
  • Step #8 Stir in the chili powder.
  • Step #9 Pour the dough into non-stick or silicone petit four molds, & bake for ten to twelve mins.
  • Step #10 The top should look set, but the inside should still be on the soft side.
  • Step #11 Let the the mini bites cool down enough to unmold them, then turn them out on a rack to cool completely while you cook the other batches.
  • Step #12 Store in a plastic container, put in the fridge, & take out about an hr prior to serving the next day.
