Chocolate Poke Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsps baking soda
  • 4 tbsps milk
  • 5 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 (14 oz) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
  • 1 c strong brewed coffee
  • 1 3/4 c sugar
  •  
  • 3/4 c sour cream
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 9 inch springform pan.
  • Step #3 In a large bowl, mix flour, baking soda, sugar, & baking powder.
  • Step #4 Make a well in the center, sour cream, coffee, & pour in melted chocolate, & oil.
  • Step #5 Mix well, & spread into prepared pan.
  • Step #6 Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 mins, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Step #7 Cool for 10 mins, then remove this from pan.
  • Step #8 In a microwave-safe bowl, mix caramels & milk.
  • Step #9 Heat in microwave until melted.
  • Step #10 Stir until smooth.
  • Step #11 With a wooden spoon, poke holes into the cake.
  • Step #12 Pour caramel mixture into holes.
