Spaghetti Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • 1 lb ground beef .
  • 2 eggs, beaten .
  • 1/2 c sliced onions .
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste .
  • 1/2 c parmesan cheese .
  • 1/2 c shredded mozzarella cheese .
  • 8 oz spaghetti .
  • 1/4 c sliced sweet red peppers (optional) .
  • 1 c cottage cheese .
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt .
  • 1 tsp sugar .
  • 8 oz canned tomatoes, with liquid cut up .
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain & place this in a bowl.
  • Step #2 Add butter, eggs & Parmesan cheese; mix well.
  • Step #3 Spread over the bottom & up the sides of a greased 10 in deep dish pie plate to form a crust.
  • Step #4 Spread cottage cheese into crust & set aside.
  • Step #5 In a skillet, brown beef, onion & pepper; drain.
  • Step #6 Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano & garlic salt.
  • Step #7 Spoon over cottage cheese.
  • Step #8 Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 mins.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with mozzarella cheese; return to the oven for 5 mins more or until the cheese is melted.
  • Step #10 Cut into wedges.
