Dad's Pan Fried Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsps sesame oil
  • 3 tbsps light soy sauce
  • 2 tsps minced garlic
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tsp white sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Place the green beans in a large saucepan or pot with one inch of water.
  • Step #2 You may place them in a steamer insert if you have one.
  • Step #3 Bring to a boil, cover & cook for 5 mins, they should still be firm & bright green.
  • Step #4 In a small bowl, stir this together the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar & sugar; set aside.
  • Step #5 Heat the sesame oil in a large skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #6 Add garlic & cook this until starting to brown.
  • Step #7 Add the green beans & stir this to coat with the oil.
  • Step #8 Stir in the soy sauce mixture & let simmer for a couple of mins uncovered to reduce the sauce.
  • Step #9 Transfer the beans to a serving dish & pour the sauce over them.
