Step #1 Place corned beef in large pot or Dutch oven & cover with water.
Step #2 Add the spice packet that came with the corned beef.
Step #3 Cover pot & bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
Step #4 Simmer approximately 50 mins per lb or until tender.
Step #5 Add whole potatoes & carrots, & cook this until the vegetables are almost tender.
Step #6 Add cabbage & cook for 15 more mins.
Step #7 Remove meat & let rest 15 mins.
Step #8 Place vegetables in a bowl & cover.
Step #9 Add as much broth (cooking liquid reserved in the Dutch oven or large pot) as you want.
Step #10 Slice meat across the grain.
