Corned Beef And Cabbage Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10 small red potatoes
  • 3 lbs corned beef brisket with spice packet
  • 5 carrots, peeled & julienned
  • 1 large head cabbage, cut into small wedges

Directions
  • Step #1 Place corned beef in large pot or Dutch oven & cover with water.
  • Step #2 Add the spice packet that came with the corned beef.
  • Step #3 Cover pot & bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  • Step #4 Simmer approximately 50 mins per lb or until tender.
  • Step #5 Add whole potatoes & carrots, & cook this until the vegetables are almost tender.
  • Step #6 Add cabbage & cook for 15 more mins.
  • Step #7 Remove meat & let rest 15 mins.
  • Step #8 Place vegetables in a bowl & cover.
  • Step #9 Add as much broth (cooking liquid reserved in the Dutch oven or large pot) as you want.
  • Step #10 Slice meat across the grain.
