Spicy Red Snapper Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp garlic powder .
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano .
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper .
  • 1 tsp dried thyme .
  • 1 tsp fresh coarse ground black pepper .
  • 6 (6 oz) red snapper fillets .
  • 1 tbsp olive oil .
  • 1 tsp dried basil .
  • 2 tbsps butter .
  • 1 tsp paprika

Directions
  • Step #1 On a large piece of wax paper, onion powder, cayenne, black pepper, mix together paprika, thyme, garlic, basil, & oregano.
  • Step #2 In a small saucepan over med-heat/flame, melt butter with oil.
  • Step #3 Brush both sides of snapper fillets with butter mixture, reserve remaining.
  • Step #4 Coat both sides of fillets with seasoning mixture.
  • Step #5 Heat a large cast iron skillet over high heat until a drop of water sizzles on it.
  • Step #6 Drizzle half of remaining butter mixture on one side of the fillets & place fillets butter side down in pan.
  • Step #7 Cook over high heat until the fish is deeply browned.
