Creme Brulee Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 egg yolks .
  • 1/3 c sugar .
  • 1 tbsp butter .
  • dulce de leche (I use Dulce De Leche Sauce) (optional) .
  • 1 2/3 c heavy cream .
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk .
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract .
  • 1 (9 inch) baked pastry shells, cooled. (I have used graham cracker crust too) .
  • 3 tbsps cornstarch

Directions
  • Step #1 If using Duce De Leche Sauce prepare it & pour this into pie crust.
  • Step #2 Beat cornstarch & cream in heavy saucepan until cornstarch is dissolved.
  • Step #3 Stir in sweetened condensed milk & egg yolks.
  • Step #4 Continue stirring until thick & bubbly.
  • Step #5 Remove from heat & stir in the butter & vanilla.
  • Step #6 Pour Creme Brulee into prepared pastry shell & chill for two hrs or more.
  • Step #7 Spread sugar over pie & brown in broiler for 5-10 mins--keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn.
  • Step #8 Refrigerate leftovers.
