Easy As Pita Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2/3 tsp dry active yeast .
  • 2/3 tsp sugar .
  • 3 c flour .
  • 1 c warm water .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 2 tbsps olive oil

Directions
  • Step #1 add the first five ingredients together & leave them for at least ten mins covered.
  • Step #2 mix with the flour.
  • Step #3 i usually use standard grade white flour & if i need more when im mixing up the dough i use wheatmeal flour.
  • Step #4 mix up the dough until you get it to boz back slightly when you press it.
  • Step #5 it shouldnt be sticky.
  • Step #6 cover it with flour, leave it to rise covered for at least thirty mins.
  • Step #7 divide up the risen dough into eight pieces & roll each one out.
  • Step #8 make each protion 15/18 cm in diameter.
  • Step #9 leave to stand for 10 mins before baking.
  • Step #10 dont open the oven too much.
  • Step #11 take out the bread as soon as it has finished rising.
  • Step #12 you can freeze it after it has cooled down & reheat it for use later.
  • Step #13 note, its ok for the bread to go flat again after you take it out of the oven.
