Easy Skillet Tacos Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c salsa .
  • shredded lettuce .
  • Toppings .
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce .
  • 1 tsp olive oil .
  • 1 small onion, sliced .
  • sliced tomatoes .
  • 1 lb ground beef .
  • 1 1/2 tsps ground cumin .
  • taco shells, warmed (or flour tortillas) .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh cilantro .
  • salsa .
  • 1 tbsp chili powder .
  • sour cream .
  • 1 (15 oz) can pinto beans, rinsed & drained .
  • 3/4 c water .
  • 1 1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook ground beef In a large-ish skillet over med-high heat, stirring until beef crumbles & is not longer pink; drain well.
  • Step #2 Remove beef; wipe skillet with a paper towel.
  • Step #3 Saute onion in hot oil in the same skillet over med-high heat.
  • Step #4 Add in chili powder, cumin, salt, & pepper; cook 5-7 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #5 Stir in beans, ¾ c water, tomato sauce, & salsa.
  • Step #6 Mash beans in skillet with a fork, leaving some whole.
  • Step #7 Bring to a boil; decrease heat, & let simmer, uncovered, 8-10 mins or until liquid is reduced.
  • Step #8 Top evenly with cheese & cilantro; cover, turn off heat, & let this stand 5 mins or until cheese melts.
  • Step #9 Serve w/ taco shells or tortillas & desired toppings.
