Maple Nut Goodie Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c evaporated milk .
  • 1 c peanut butter .
  • 2 c margarine or butter .
  • 1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips .
  • 1 (11 1/2 oz) package milk chocolate chips .
  • 1 (3 oz) package vanilla pudding mix (not instant) .
  • 2 1/2 c cocktail peanuts .
  • 7 1/2 c powdered sugar .
  • 2 tsps maple flavoring

Directions
  • Step #1 1.
  • Step #2 Line 15x10x1-inch baking pan with foil wrap.
  • Step #3 Butter or spray foil wrap with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Step #4 In large saucepan, melt chocolate chips & 1 c of the margarine over low heat/flame, stirring frequently.
  • Step #5 Remove saucepan from heat.
  • Step #6 Add peanut butter; mix well.
  • Step #7 Spread half of mixture in buttered foil wrap-lined pan.
  • Step #8 Freeze 10 mins or until set.
  • Step #9 Place pan in refrigerator.

  • Step #11 Meanwhile, stir peanuts into remaining chocolate mixture.
  • Step #12 Set aside.

  • Step #14 Melt remaining 1 c margarine in large saucepan over low heat/flame.
  • Step #15 Gradually stir in the evaporated milk.
  • Step #16 Stir in pudding mix.
  • Step #17 Cook until mixture is slightly thickened, stirring constantly.
  • Step #18 DO NOT BOIL.
  • Step #19 Remove saucepan from heat.
  • Step #20 Add powdered sugar & maple flavor; mix well.
  • Step #21 Cool about 10 mins or until slightly cooled.
  • Step #22 4.
  • Step #23 Carefully spread pudding mixture over chilled chocolate layer.
  • Step #24 Refrigerate 30 mins.
  • Step #25 5.
  • Step #26 Stir reserved chocolate-peanut mixture.
  • Step #27 Drop by spoonfuls onto chilled pudding layer; spread to cover.
  • Step #28 Refrigerate at least 3 hrs or until firm.
  • Step #29 Cut into bars.
  • Step #30 Store in refrigerator.
