1 loaf French bread, stale cut into 1 inch cubes (I store the loaf in a cold oven over night to make it stale) .
2 tbsps cinnamon .
1 quart milk .
1 c powdered sugar (for sauce) .
1 c raisins .
2 tbsps Amaretto (optional) .
1 tbsp vanilla extract .
6 eggs .
1/2 c sugar .
1/4 c Amaretto (for sauce)
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven 375 & grease a 9x13 pan(I use a disposable for easy clean up).
Step #2 Place bread cubes In a large-ish bowl.
Step #3 In another bowl, sugar, eggs, mix together well, milk, vanilla, amaretto, cinnamon.
Step #4 Pour over bread & let soak for 10-20 mins.
Step #5 Pour into buttered 9x13 dish & bake for 45 to 1 hr till center is done & browned on top(for moister pudding add another pan of water on the rack below).
Step #6 Cool 10 mins before serving with sauce.
Step #7 For sauce: I always double this!
Melt butter in a sauce pan.
Step #8 Wisk in powdered sugar, then amaretto.
