Ingredients
1 tsp grated orange zest .
2 large eggs, room temperature .
3 1/2 tsps baking powder .
1 c sugar .
2 c sesame seeds .
1/2 lb unsalted butter, cut into pieces & softened .
4 c all-purpose flour .
1/2 tsp salt .
1/2 c milk .
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven 375 F degrees.
Step #2 Butter & flour two large baking sheets.
Step #3 Pour milk into a shallow bowl.
Step #4 Spread sesame seeds on a piece of wax paper.
Step #5 Set aside.
Step #6 In the large bowl of an electric mixer, baking powder, stir this together the flour, sugar, & salt.
Step #7 On Low speed, beat in the butter a little at a time.
Step #8 In a medium bowl, vanilla, whisk the eggs, & orange zest.
Step #9 Stir the egg mixture into the dry ingredients until well mixed.
Step #10 Pinch off a piece of dough the size of a golf ball & shape into a log 2 1/2 inches long & 3/4 inch thick.
Step #11 Dip the log in the milk, then roll it in the sesame seeds.
Step #12 Place on a prepared baking sheet & flatten slightly.
Step #13 Continue with the remaining dough, placing cookies about 1 inch apart.
Step #14 Bake for 25 to 30 mins, or until well browned.
Step #15 Let cool on the baking sheets for 10 mins, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
Step #16 Store in airtight container.
