Chocolate Pudding Cakei Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c boiling water
  • 3/4 c white sugar
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1/4 c unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F ( 175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 In ungreased 9 inch square pan, the baking powder, cocoa, stir this together flour, white sugar, & salt.
  • Step #3 Mix in milk, oil, & vanilla with a fork until smooth.
  • Step #4 Spread batter evenly in pan (batter will be thick).
  • Step #5 Sprinkle top with brown sugar & 1/4 c cocoa.
  • Step #6 Pour boiling water over batter.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 mins.
  • Step #8 Let stand 15 mins, then spoon into dessert dishes or cut into squares.
  • Step #9 Invert each square onto dessert plate & spoon sauce over each serving.
  • Step #10 Top with ice cream or whipped topping, if desired.
