Cream Of Fresh Tomato Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c sliced onion
  • 1/2 tsp white sugar
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsps margarine
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 c milk
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Simmer tomatoes, sugar, onions, & salt & pepper.
  • Step #2 Once onions are soft, strain.
  • Step #3 Set liquid aside.
  • Step #4 In a saucepan, melt the butter or margarine.
  • Step #5 Stir in the flour.
  • Step #6 Whisk in the milk, & cook this until thickened.
  • Step #7 Slowly add the reserved tomato liquid, & carefully heat.
  • Step #8 Serve hot.
