French Toast (or Eggy Bread) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps caster sugar .
  • 1 egg .
  • 1 tbsp water .
  • 30 g butter .
  • 4 slices white bread .
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions
  • Step #1 use a biscuit cutter or your desired shape to cut a shape from each piece of bread.
  • Step #2 break the egg into a small bowl, add the water & 2 tsps of the sugar, beat with a fork until mixed together.
  • Step #3 mix the rest of the sugar with the cinnamon & set aside until the end.
  • Step #4 put butter in a medium frying pan & turn the heat to medium.
  • Step #5 when butter is melted, dip the bread rounds quickly into the egg mixture, one at a time.
  • Step #6 let the extra mixture run off then carefully place bread on the pan.
  • Step #7 cook the bread rounds for about 2 mins or until they are lightly browned underneath.
  • Step #8 turn over & lightly brown other side, remove this from pan & put it on a piece of kitchen paper.
  • Step #9 sprinkle both sides of French toast with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Step #10 serve as soon as possible to stop from going soggy.
