Sweet And Sour Tuna Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (6 1/2 oz) can albacore tuna, drained .
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce .
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch .
  • 1 (3 oz) can chow mein noodles .
  • 1/4 green bell pepper, cut into 2-inch strips .
  • 3 tbsps granulated sugar .
  • 1 (8 oz) can pineapple chunks .
  • 1 vegetable bouillon cube .
  • 1 tbsp vinegar .
  • 1/2 c water .
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Drain the can of pineapple, reserving the juice.
  • Step #2 In a saucepan mix 1/3 c of the pineapple juice [set aside the rest], pineapple chunks, bell pepper, bouillon cube & water.
  • Step #3 Heat the mixture to boiling, then reduce heat & simmer 5 mins.
  • Step #4 Mix the cornstarch with the remaining pineapple juice, soy sauce, vinegar & sugar, then stir that mixture into the hot pineapple mixture.
  • Step #5 Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thickened & bubbling.
  • Step #6 Add the tuna chunks & butter, carefully stirring.
  • Step #7 Heat through.
  • Step #8 Heat the chow mein noodles, & spoon the tuna mixture over the noodles before serving.
