• 1 c sugar .
• 1 1/2 tsps lemon extract .
• 1 tsp baking powder .
• 3 eggs .
• 1/4 c shortening .
• 1/2 c milk .
• 1 1/2 tsps vanilla .
• frosting .
• 2 tbsps cocoa .
• 1/2 c butter .
• 1 1/2 c flour .
• 1 1/2 tsps lemon juice

• Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
• Step #2 Grease & flour 9x5in loaf pan.
• Step #3 In a small bowl, mix flour & baking powder.
• Step #4 In a large bowl, beat butter & shortening.
• Step #5 Beat in sugar, vanilla, lemon extract & lemon juice.
• Step #6 Beat in eggs.
• Step #7 Add flour mixture & milk.
• Step #8 Place 1/3 batter in a small bowl.
• Step #9 Whisk in cocoa powder.
• Step #10 Pour 1/2 of vanilla batter into pan.
• Step #11 Spoon 5 dollops of chocolate batter on top.
• Step #12 Pour remaining vanilla batter on top.
• Step #13 Spoon remaining chocolate batter on top.
• Step #14 Using a butter knife, swirl batters to create a marbled effect.
• Step #15 Bake for 1 hr or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
• Step #16 Cool completely, then frost.
