Chocolate Dipped Pretzels Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c green candy melts (Wilton Candy Melts) (optional) .
  • 1 c red candy melts (Wilton Candy Melts) (optional) .
  • 2 1/2 tsps shortening (optional) .
  • 1 (14 oz) bag milk chocolate melts (Wilton Candy Melts) .
  • 1 (16 oz) bag pretzels (mini, rods, or standard)

Directions
  • Step #1 DOUBLE BOILER METHOD: Fill lower pan with water to below level of top pan.
  • Step #2 Bring water to simmer, then remove this from heat.
  • Step #3 Put Candy Melts in top pan & set in position on lower pan.
  • Step #4 Stir constantly, without beating, until smooth & completely melted.
  • Step #5 MICROWAVE METHOD: In microwave-safe container, microwave 1 package of Candy Melts at half power or defrost setting for 1 min.
  • Step #6 Stir throughly.
  • Step #7 Continue to microwave & stir at 30 second intervals until smooth & completely melted.
  • Step #8 With a fork or dipping spoon, place pretzels into completely melted chocolate.
  • Step #9 Roll around carefully but quickly with the dipper until well covered.
  • Step #10 Carefully remove & allow excess to drip off & then place on waxed paper to set.
  • Step #11 Drizzle with coloring melts (red & green) for added decoration.
  • Step #12 Leave pretzels to sit for 30 mins until firm.
