The Ultimate Garlic Pesto Alfredo Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • pepper .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 c white wine .
  • 1/2 medium onion, minced .
  • 2 1/2 tbsps butter .
  • 1 c heavy cream .
  • 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce .
  • 1/4 c mushrooms, minced .
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1/4 c parmesan cheese .
  • 1 tbsp butter .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 1/3 c flour .
  • 4 tbsps basil pesto

Directions
  • Step #1 In a small sauce pan melt 1 tbsp butter.
  • Step #2 add minced onion, garlic & mushrooms.
  • Step #3 cook this until nice & soft.
  • Step #4 add 1/2 c white wine & let simmer on low until it reduces by 3/4.
  • Step #5 In a sauce pot or pan melt 2 1/2 tbsp butter.
  • Step #6 stirr in the flour creating a roux with a wisk mix in the milk a little at a time to avoid lumps - wisk hard & lots.
  • Step #7 When the mixture is smoothish - pour in the cream, salt, worchestershire sauce, mix in the basil pesto, tobasco sauce & mushroom onion garlic wine mixture.
  • Step #8 mix well - pepper to taste stirr in the parmesan cheese mixing well & set aside.
  • Step #9 This sauce can be made hrs ahead of time - simply reheat on your cook top on low or microwave for 30 seconds.
  • Step #10 Drizzle over your favorite meal - I have shown this sauce served over stirrfried vegetables & shrimp on pasta.
