Chef Joey's Yeast Free Vegan Pizza Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps olive oil .
  • 1/2 c water (filtered) .
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt .
  • 1 (15 oz) can pizza sauce .
  • 2 tsps baking powder .
  • 1 c spelt flour .
  • 1/2 c wheat bread flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 400'F.
  • Step #2 Put the flours, salt & baking powder into the bowl of a food processor/blender & process until well mixd.
  • Step #3 Mix the olive oil & water together & pour through the feeding tub of the food processor/blender.
  • Step #4 Process for a min or so & then check your dough.
  • Step #5 It should be somewhat sticky.
  • Step #6 Let it sit in a bowl with a damp cloth over it while you prepare your toppings.
  • Step #7 For my pizza I like to use sliced onions, garlic, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, sweet bell pepper & vegan cheeses.
  • Step #8 Of course this is a personal choice.
  • Step #9 Just remember not to over load the pizza with toppings & sauce.
  • Step #10 Moderation is best for even baking.
  • Step #11 Once you are done cutting up toppings put the pizza crust onto an oiled 12" pizza pan & bake it in the preheated 400'F oven for 12-15 mins.
  • Step #12 In the meantime, cook the onion & pepper for a few mins, then add the garlic & mushrooms until just done.
  • Step #13 When the pizza crust finishes take it out of the oven then top it with the pizza sauce & cover it with toppings & then the cheese.
  • Step #14 I use Vegan Jack Cheese & Powdered Vegan Parmesan.
  • Step #15 You can also add Soy Pepperoni if you wish.
  • Step #16 I put the pizza back into the oven for another 10-15 mins so the cheese melts & the crust gets a nice light golden colour.
