Jambalaya (red Rice) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp ground thyme .
  • 1 (6 oz) can water .
  • 2 tbsps parsley .
  • 3 bay leaves .
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced up .
  • 2 c white rice .
  • 4 dashes Crystal hot sauce .
  • 2 celery ribs, sliced .
  • 1/2 lb pork cube steaks, cut up .
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced .
  • 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste .
  • 2 tbsps margarine or butter .
  • 3 1/2 c water .
  • 2 onions, sliced .
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced .
  • 2 chicken breast fillets, cut up

Directions
  • Step #1 Saute onion, celery,bell pepper, & garlic In a large-ish pot with margerine or butter for 8-10 min.
  • Step #2 Add chicken, pork, & sausage to the pot.
  • Step #3 Spice up with salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 Cook 10 mins.
  • Step #5 Add tomato paste plus 1 can of water & Crystal hot sauce.
  • Step #6 Simmer 5 mins.
  • Step #7 Add water, ground thyme, parsley, chicken base, bay leaves, & rice.
  • Step #8 Bring to a boil; turn heat down to low & let simmer 20 mins; stirring every once in awhile.
