Mock Sour Cream Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp unflavored gelatin .
  • 1 c milk .
  • 4 tsps dry buttermilk .
  • 1/2 c plain low-fat yogurt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium-size heavy saucepan, whisk together the milk & buttermilk powder.
  • Step #2 Sprinkle top the gelatin on top & let it stand until the gelatin softens, about 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Set the pan over low heat/flame & cook, uncovered, stirring every once in awhile for 5 mins or until the gelatin dissolves.
  • Step #4 Remove from the heat & whisk in the yogurt.
  • Step #5 Transfer the mixture to a medium-size bowl, cover, & chill in the refrigerator for 1 hr or until thickened.
  • Step #6 Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Step #7 Note: Quantity is guesstimated.
