Poppy Seed Sugar Cookies (food Processor) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c sugar .
  • 1/3 c poppy seeds .
  • 2 tsps baking powder .
  • sugar, for dipping .
  • 3 c flour .
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil .
  • 2 large eggs .
  • 2 tsps vanilla (or use almond extract) .
  • 1/4 c orange juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Set oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step #2 Fit processor with steel blade & process the eggs with sugar, oil, juice & vanilla until mixed (about 3-5 seconds).
  • Step #3 Add in flour, baking powder & poppy seeds; process until just mixed using on/off pulses (do not over mix!).
  • Step #4 Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces.
  • Step #5 Cover up the dough with plastic wrap & let sit at about room temp for 15 mins before rolling out.
  • Step #6 Roll each piece on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle (about 1/8-inch thick).
  • Step #7 Using assorted cookie cutters, cut into different shapes.
  • Step #8 Carefully coat each cookie in sugar.
  • Step #9 Place sugar-side up on a greased cookie sheet.
  • Step #10 Bake for 8-10 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #11 Cool slightly on baking sheet then transfer to a rack to cool.
