Chocolate Refrigerator Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

2 eggs .
3 c flour, sifted .
3 tsps baking powder .
2 tsps salt .
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed .
2 c semisweet chocolate morsels .
3 tsps vanilla .
1 c nuts, finely sliced (optional) .
1/2 c shortening

Directions

Step #1 Melt over hot water the chocolate.
Step #2 Sift the flour, baking powder & salt together & set aside.
Step #3 Combine the shortening & vanilla & beat till creamy.
Step #4 Beat the sugar in slowly & then beat in the the 2 eggs one at a time.
Step #5 Add the flour mixture, melted chocolate & nuts, if using, & mix well.
Step #6 Shape on waxed paper in three 10" rolls.
Step #7 Roll up.
Step #8 Chill several hrs or overnight.
Step #9 Preheat oven to 375°F Unroll.
Step #10 Cut in 1/8" slices.
Step #11 Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Step #12 Bake at 375 F for 6-8 mins.
