Creole Buffalo Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled .
  • 6 oz hot sauce .
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper .
  • 1 tsp onion powder .
  • 2 tbsps creole seasoning .
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder .
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 2 1/2 tbsps butter .
  • 1 tsp black pepper .
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper .
  • 2 c flour

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine the flour, onion powder, cayenne, creole seasoning, garlic powder, & black pepper in a zip lock bag.
  • Step #2 Shake the bag to mix the flour & spices.
  • Step #3 Rinse the shrimp under cold water; place this in the bag & shake to coat the shrimp.
  • Step #4 Lay the shrimp in a casserole dish & put in the fridge for 30 mins to rest; do not discard the seasoned flour.
  • Step #5 Combine the minced garlic, butter, hot sauce & cayenne in a saucepan; heat until the butter is melted & keep warm.
  • Step #6 In a deep fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees.
  • Step #7 Remove the shrimp from the refrigerator & re-coat with the remaining seasoned flour.
  • Step #8 Place the shrimp in the hot oil & fry about 2-3 mins, or until pink; fry in batches if necessary.
  • Step #9 Immediately coat with the spicy buffalo sauce & serve.
