Step #1 Heat oven to 350°F Remove wrappers from candies.
Step #2 Beat butter, granulated sugar,egg & vanilla in large bowl until well mixed.
Step #3 Stir together flour, baking soda & salt; add alternately with milk to butter mixture, beating until well mixed.
Step #4 Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Step #5 Roll in red sugar, granulated sugar, powdered sugar or a combination of any of the sugars.
Step #6 Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Step #7 Bake 8 to 10 mins or until edges are lightly browned & cookie is set.
Step #8 Remove from oven; cool 2 to 3 mins.
Step #9 Press a candy piece into center of each cookie.
Step #10 Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
Step #11 Cool completely.
