Chili Con Carne Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp cooking fat (bacon drippings are great) .
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1/2 lb ground beef .
  • 1 medium onion, sliced .
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 1 (14 oz) can kidney beans .
  • 1 (19 oz) can tomatoes .
  • fresh ground pepper (to taste) .
  • 1 tsp salt (to taste) .
  • 2 tsps chili powder (sweet or hot)

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown onion, garlic & beef in fat.
  • Step #2 Add remaining ingredients.
  • Step #3 Cover up saucepan & cook carefully for 30 mins.
  • Step #4 Uncover & let simmer until mixture thickens to serving consistency.
  • Step #5 Note: My family likes it best the next day, after all the flavours have mixed.
  • Step #6 This recipe can easily be doubled.
