Country Apple Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps quick-cooking tapioca
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts
  • 1 1/2 c shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 c butter or margarine, melted
  • 6 c thinly sliced peeled tart apples
  • whipped topping
  • 1 1/3 c sugar, divided
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 c water
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large saucepan, water, mix 1 c sugar, tapioca & cinnamon.
  • Step #2 Bring to a boil over med-heat/flame, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #3 Remove from the heat; stir in the the apples until coated.
  • Step #4 Pour into a greased 8-in.
  • Step #5 baking dish; set aside.
  • Step #6 In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt & remaining sugar.
  • Step #7 Stir in butter & milk just until moistened.
  • Step #8 Fold in cheese & walnuts.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top over apple mixture.
  • Step #10 Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 mins or until filling is bubbly.
  • Step #11 Serve with whipped topping if desired.
