Country Apple Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients

2 tbsps quick-cooking tapioca
1 c all-purpose flour
1/2 c sliced walnuts
1 1/2 c shredded Cheddar cheese
1/3 c butter or margarine, melted
6 c thinly sliced peeled tart apples
whipped topping
1 1/3 c sugar, divided
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 c water
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 c milk
1/4 tsp salt

Directions

Step #1 In a large saucepan, water, mix 1 c sugar, tapioca & cinnamon.
Step #2 Bring to a boil over med-heat/flame, stirring every once in awhile.
Step #3 Remove from the heat; stir in the the apples until coated.
Step #4 Pour into a greased 8-in.
Step #5 baking dish; set aside.
Step #6 In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt & remaining sugar.
Step #7 Stir in butter & milk just until moistened.
Step #8 Fold in cheese & walnuts.
Step #9 Sprinkle top over apple mixture.
Step #10 Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 mins or until filling is bubbly.
Step #11 Serve with whipped topping if desired.
