Brazos River Stew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (16 oz) can tomatoes .
  • 4 small potatoes, cut into fourths .
  • 1 c water .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1 oz worcestershire sauce .
  • 1 tsp chili powder .
  • 1 lb stew meat .
  • 2 medium onions, sliced .
  • 3 slices bacon .
  • salt & pepper .
  • 4 medium carrots, sliced thick .
  • 2 c low sodium beef broth .
  • 1 tbsp flour .
  • 1 (8 oz) can corn .
  • 2 celery ribs, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Fry bacon in a Dutch oven or large stew pot.
  • Step #2 Remove bacon & drain on paper towel.
  • Step #3 Add stew meat to pan & sear.
  • Step #4 Lower heat & add tomatoes, garlic, beef broth, water celery, onion, Worcestershire sauce & chili powder.
  • Step #5 Cover up & let simmer 2 hrs.
  • Step #6 Remove 1/4 c broth from stew, cool, & mix with flour.
  • Step #7 Add flour mixture to stew.
  • Step #8 Salt & pepper as needed.
  • Step #9 Add carrots & potatoes & cook 30 mins.
  • Step #10 Add corn & bacon; cook another 5 mins.
