Meatloaf Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 lb pork sausage .
  • 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef (pref. 93% lean or higher) .
  • 5 slices fresh bread .
  • 1/2 c milk .
  • 1 tsp garlic salt .
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1/2 c ketchup .
  • 1/2 c barbecue sauce .
  • 1 tsp mustard .
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1 medium onion, sliced .
  • 1 tsp seasoning salt .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1/2 c water (if cooking in individual loaves)

Directions
  • Step #1 By hand or using a heavy duty mixer mix together meats & onion, add salts & Worcestershire.
  • Step #2 In food processor/blender, chop bread until fine.
  • Step #3 Add milk & eggs (you can still use the chopping blade) & mix until well mixed.
  • Step #4 Add egg/bread mixture to meat & mix mix together very well.
  • Step #5 For oven, either make into a single large loaf in a bread pan, or make six-ten (depending on size) individual loaves.
  • Step #6 Add the half c of water in bottom of 9X13 pan.
  • Step #7 Mix together final four ingredients (this can easily be changed up according to taster) in a small bowl.
  • Step #8 Brush tops of loaves liberally with sauce.
  • Step #9 Bake uncovered for 50-60 mins at 350 degrees.
  • Step #10 For grilling, make into individual loaves & grill over indirect heat for about 45-60 mins or until a meat thermometer inserted into thickest part reads at least 170.
  • Step #11 Baste with sauce periodically while they are grilling.
