Sticky Cinnamon Buns Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1 1/4 c buttermilk .
  • 2 tsps salt .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • 2 tsps baking powder .
  • 1 c currants (or raisins) .
  • 1/2 c warm water (105-115 degrees F) .
  • 1/2 c brown sugar, packed .
  • 6 c flour .
  • 1/4 c butter, softened .
  • 2 (1/4 oz) packages active dry yeast .
  • 1/2 c butter, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Dissolve yeast in warm water; allow to stand 10 mins.
  • Step #2 Stir in buttermilk, eggs, 1/2 c butter, the sugar, 3 c of flour, the baking powder & salt.
  • Step #3 Stir in enough remaining flour to make the dough easy to handle.
  • Step #4 Turn dough onto lightly floured board.
  • Step #5 Knead until smooth & elastic, about 10 mins.
  • Step #6 Divide dough in half.
  • Step #7 Roll each half into rectangle, 15x9".
  • Step #8 Spread each rectangle with 2 tbsps of butter.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top each with half the brown sugar, cinnamon & currants (or raisins).
  • Step #10 Roll up, beginning at wide side.
  • Step #11 Cut each roll this into 15 slices.
  • Step #12 Place slices on greased baking sheets; cover.
  • Step #13 All to rise until double, about 1 hr.
  • Step #14 Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Step #15 Bake until golden brown, 20-25 mins.
