Mini Chocolate Or Fruit Rugelach Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 c flour .
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temp .
  • 1/2 c strawberry jam .
  • 1/2 c raisins or dried cranberries .
  • 2 tsps cinnamon .
  • 1 c softened butter .
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon .
  • 1/2 c nuts .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • Dough .
  • 1 c sour cream .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1 egg, beaten .
  • Topping .
  • Filling

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step #2 Beat butter with cream cheese until smooth.
  • Step #3 Add flour, alternately with sour cream ending with flour.
  • Step #4 When all is mixd, wrap in plastic wrap & chill for at least 1/2 hr, divide into 8 discs, or more.
  • Step #5 Roll out one disc into an 8 inch circle, leaving others in frig until you're ready for them.
  • Step #6 Melt jam in microwave for 20 seconds & brush over dough circle, and/or spread with warm ganache.
  • Step #7 Chop raisins & nuts with sugar & cinnamon in food processor/blender.
  • Step #8 Sprinkle top filling sparingly over jam or chocolate ganache.
  • Step #9 Cut circle with a pizza cutter into 12 triangles by cutting in fours, & then each 1/4 into 3 triangles.
  • Step #10 Roll each one beginning with wide end.
  • Step #11 Place on cookie sheet point side down.
  • Step #12 (otherwise they will unroll while baking).
  • Step #13 Brush each cookie with beaten egg wash & sprinkle with mixd cinnamon & sugar.
  • Step #14 Bake 15 to 20 mins, or until lightly browned.
