Cherry Dream Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 c boiling water
  • 1 (3 oz) package cherry gelatin
  • 1 (18.25 oz) package white cake mix
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 2 c whipped topping

Directions
  • Step #1 Prepare cake mix according to package directions, using a greased 13-in.
  • Step #2 x 9-in.
  • Step #3 x 2-in.
  • Step #4 baking pan.
  • Step #5 Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Step #6 Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
  • Step #7 Cool cake on a wire rack for 3-5 mins.
  • Step #8 Poke holes in cake with a meat fork; slowly pour gelatin over cake.
  • Step #9 cool for 15 mins.
  • Step #10 Cover & put in the fridge for 30 mins.
  • Step #11 In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until light.
  • Step #12 Fold in whipped topping.
  • Step #13 Carefully spread over cake.
  • Step #14 Top with the pie filling.
  • Step #15 Refrigerate for at least 2 hrs before serving.
