Sweetheart Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c powdered sugar (optional) .
  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour .
  • 4 tbsps raspberry sauce .
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts (optional) or pecans (optional) .
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract .
  • 4 eggs .
  • 1 c butter (2 sticks) .
  • 3/4 c cocoa .
  • 2 c sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
  • Step #2 Grease a 9x13 inch glass pan.
  • Step #3 Melt butter in a small pan over low heat/flame, then sift in cocoa & whisk until smooth.
  • Step #4 Pour into a large mixing bowl, let cool.
  • Step #5 Add sugar, raspberry sauce, vanilla extract, & mix well.
  • Step #6 Lightly whisk the eggs, then add butter & stir this to mix.
  • Step #7 Add flour, stir until mixd.
  • Step #8 Brownies should be stirred by hand, until just mixed.
  • Step #9 Add nuts if desired, spoon into baking dish.
  • Step #10 Bake for 30-40 mins, until the middle springs back when lightly pressed & the edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan.
  • Step #11 Let cool, then sift powdered sugar over the top, if desired.
  • Step #12 Cut into small squares & stored in a covered container.
